Donnie PrakosoDeveloper, self-proclaimed barista and cafe racer enthusiast. This blog is a collection of my writings on technology.
I am joining AWS as a technology evangelist. What does this mean for you? I’ll be writing, sharing and talking many things related to technology, especially in machine learning and serverless. Onwards!
It was not until I got a chance to be a lecturer in Universitas Indonesia that I found a great feeling to share my knowledge and make the audience understand. It was not until then that I realized that I’m more willing to make my idea contagious to others than building a great product for myself. It is a simple as I found it more self-fulfilling to help others.
The rationale behind is very simple, that all of us have a certain role to shape our community. I chose the path to share all knowledge that I have with you so you can have a technical perspective and skill as a foundation to build a great product that can help us to live in a better world.
That’s what technology evangelists are for.
To help and engage modern builders like you, to transform your brilliant ideas into life, technically speaking.
I’ve known AWS since 2011, when I first started a dynamic ads serving platform. Three years later, I participated as a customer speaker in AWS Cloud Kata, Jakarta, sharing how Malesbanget.com 1, an online media startup based in Jakarta which I worked as CTO, took leverage of moving into the cloud and gets benefits in the first month.
In my opinion, AWS not only build useful products, but they also offer a new perspective on technology. Remember how AWS Lambda helps you with microservices paradigm/architecture? Or when you only want to focus on building your applications based containers and Amazon ECS takes out the heavy-lifting of managing it? Even better, want to speed up your machine learning process? AWS just launched Amazon SageMaker 2.
These offerings are valuable for me and I believe they’re valuable for you as well. With more than 1,300 launches of products and features last year, I’d be surprised if none of those give any benefits for you.
The way I see the value of AWS products are into two categories, tangible and intangible value. Tangible values, immediate benefits that you can get, you can see those from the list of respective AWS product pages.
But, the intangible value that comes with AWS products, is time. The time that you can save by using AWS products so you can experiment and build more.
I’m joining AWS because I want to extend this value to you so you can build more products for a better world.
I’ll spend most of my times doing a mini-research on technology, and thoughtfully craft it so I can share it with you in forms of the blog post, demonstrations, webinars, workshops or even speaking at your event.
I’m super excited to share ideas and technical stories with all of you! So, please expect to see more updates in next couple weeks!
